Marilyn Manson — the American musician, the founder and the permanent leader of rock group Marilyn Manson.

The group has been formed in 1989 as Marilyn Manson and The Spooky Kids. Since then the collective structure repeatedly changed.

The pseudonym of its vocalist and the permanent leader — Merilina Manson (Bryan Uorner) became the group name. The pseudonym has been made by Uorner of a name of the well-known American film actress Merilin of Monroe and a surname of not less known maniac-murderer Charles Manson. So unusual connection, according to Uorner, possessed variety of values, beginning from the basic statement about inevitability of presence in the person of two beginnings (good and harm) to the protest against «America places murderers on magazine" Times "cover, doing their so well-known, as our favourite movie stars» (an essay «Kolumbina: Whose is fault?»). All other participants of group took similar pseudonyms from female names and surnames of known murderers.

The duality became a distinctive feature of all creativity of the group which are constantly being on border mass and elite. Intellectual complexity (mainly, in the conceptual plan), plural hints and reminiscences at times are combined in creativity of collective with weak and artly unpersuasive texts, and original musical decisions border on trivial popular motives.
