In the late sixties the Texas guitarist Billi Gibbons has organized a blues command «Moving Sidewalks». The group has let out an album and some singles, and even Îimi Hendrix, interested in its creativity, has invited musicians to participate together with it in a telecast where named Gibbonsa one of the best young executors of America. In 1970 year Bills were opened by the new project under the name «ZZ Top». With this business it was helped by companions on «Moving Sidewalks» keyboard player Lane Grieg and drummer Dan Mitchell. The given configuration has had time to let out only one single then colleagues Bills have gone to Vietnam, and he had to search new colleagues.
The new structure «ZZ Top», cemented for many long years, looked as follows: Bills of Gibbons (a vocal, a guitar), Joe "Dasti Hill" (a vocal, a bass), Frenk Bird (shock). Producer Bill Hem became the fourth non-staff member of team. He has advised to be guided by hard fate. But the collective too couldn't refuse the southern blues roots, therefore have chosen the direction which has provided «ZZ Top» glory for long time. In the beginning of the activity of a trio went on tour basically on southern states, but already after an exit of the second plate has received popularity.
Then, in 1972, their single «Francene» has made the way in first hundred. Itself «Rio Grande Mud» for some reason hasn't got to charts though songs from an album sounded on air of radio stations. The commercial success has come with an exit «Tres Hombres», containing such insurgent as «La Grange». Thanks to this composition the album has pleased directly in the Top 10.
