Flogging Molly the American folk pank group of 7 persons under leadership of Irish Dejva King.
Before creating Flogging Molly, future frontman commands Dejv King was the vocalist in metal band Fastway, and also in experimental threw-collective Katmandu (1991). Further he has concluded the contract with Epic records on the edition of a solo album, but owing to that that the writing down company was against presence on a plate of the Irish national motives, King has terminated the contract.
In the late nineties King has met the future partners in group of guitarist Ted Hatt, bass player Jef Piters and vilionist Bridzhet Rigen. In such structure the first songs Flogging Molly, such as Devils Dance Floor and Black Friday Rule have been composed.
Approximately at the same time the group began to act regularly in Los Angeles pub Molly Malones. Later in interview to magazine «Kerrang!» Dejv King has noticed that the group is in many respects obliged by the name to this platform. «We played there every Monday, and have somehow thought that have absolutely tortured its performances»
By King's recognition, the greatest influence on group creativity have rendered The Pogues, and also The Dubliners, Stiff Little Fingers and The Clash in a combination to a manner of singing in the spirit of Johnny Kesha's country-legend. The spider of Stejsi from The Pogues has noticed that Flogging Molly have deduced the sounding created The Pogues, on qualitatively new level. It is possible to find many references to the Roman Catholic church in group texts.
