The person-orchestra, Zak Frantsis Kondon (was born on February, 13th 1986), in 2006 let out the surprising work Gulag Orkestar cast by memoirs on nonexistent music of the nonexistent country, by today already has the serious creative biography. To Gulag Orkestar there was only a pair of albums «for friends» (are written down in 15 and 16 years). With the first plate to Zak helped drummer Jeremiah Barns (Jeremy Barnes) from Neutral Milk Hotel and Heather Trost from A Hawk and a Hacksaw. Then have been let out The Flying Cup in 2007 and live album Live at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in June 2009.

Zak Kondon was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico on February, 13th 1986. It was brought up in Virginia before moving back in New Mexico.
Kondon studied at High school of Santa Fe while it haven't excluded at the age of 16 years. Then has arrived in college where studied during the short period before going in Europe for 4 months with his brother Rajan. It has spent the Most part of this time in Paris where he has learned the Balkan folk music which is pleasant to the Parisian students. This opening and the subsequent research of world music promoted development of a sound of Beirut.
On returning from Europe Kondon has arrived in university in New Mexico where has studied the Portuguese language and the Photo. Zak has written down big part Gulag Orkestar one in its bedroom.
