A Tribe Called Quest - American hip-hop the group created in 1988. Participants of group: rappers Q-Tip, Phife Dawg and producer/DJ Ali Shaheed Muhammad. The third rapper, Jarobi White has left group after there was their first album, but, despite it, from time to time continued performances during rounds. They have let out five albums for ten years of the vigorous activity three of which have received the higher praises of critics, and have broken up in 1998. In 2006 the group has reunited and has gone to act across the United States.

Q-Tip And Phife have together grown in Queens, NYC and have got acquainted with Muhammad in the senior classes of school. They were included into group Native Tongues Posse known for the positive spirit and the strong social message. Initially A Tribe Called Quest perceived as non-standard group because they avoided that a gangster rap and behavior typical for rappers. Their debut album left in 1990 and was called People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm.
