OutKast a duet of the American rappers of Andre Benzhamen (under pseudonym Dre and Andre 3000) and Antvan Patton (under pseudonym Big Boi) which represents the school of the hip-hop which has been got mixed up on ji-funk and classical southern soul. Winners of five awards "Grammy", Outkast have developed hip-hop-movement of southern states of the USA from aggressive angry barrackings to the melodious arrangements, carefully thought over lyrics and the general optimistically-comic spirit.

The duet was formed in 1991, but only upon termination of higher education Dre and Big Boi have concluded the contract with belonging Bebifejsu a label LaFace. Their first single — Player’s Ball (1994) has won first place in rap charts of the USA. Throughout 1990 they have got many admirers among musical critics and listeners of hip-hop, however their popularity among white audience till 2000 has been rather limited.

Break has come in the end of 2000 with an exit of their fourth album, Stankonia which has shown that in the course of time children have kept the experimental approach to music and originality of a sight. Radio stations on all country also have abroad grasped a single «Ms. Jackson» which has been cast by rupture of Andre with status rhythm end-blues singer Erikoj Bud.
